Exhausted Kim Chi

It's been a week since I embarked on my Kim Chi escapade. Loving every moment of it! Knowing these Korean dudes here has been a tremendous blessing! Funny and very comical at times, they can be really passionate when the talk abt Korea’s world cup endeavors and their lovy dovy Soap Operas.

Anyway! There’s like in total 187 different types of kim chi known to mankind and so far I hav tasted only 5 different kinds! Barely scraped the surface! Now that it has been exhausted, it’s causing a lot of up roar for our dear Korean counterparts.

kimchi jjigae (kimchi soup), kimchi bokkeumbap (kimchi fried rice), and other dishes. …….Donkatsu (Fried Pork Cultet) ……Spicy Ramen noodles…Udon… OH!!! Everyone go flock to ur nearest Korean restaurant! It’s amazing what these pple hav on their menu! Wait till u check out what they hav for snacks. They hav got this little Wick Chocolate sponge cake (similar to the ‘Hero’ Chocolate sponge we once had in Singapore) which is jes such a lovely treat after a meal.

Been studying harder than I hav in the past 2 years, really rusty at first, sleeping much better on my anatomy text than on my pillow! Lots of catching up to do compared to all the other kiwis here. No doubt they are right down of down under, these guys are finding every opportunity to party till their cows come home, which is pretty late. So far im been steering this boat on course, gonna focused on studies.

Lecturers has been motivating with questions like “ would u rather be treated by a physio who has straight As or one that jes average.” Uhmmm it’s a tough one, coz I mean results are not everything, but given me, if I hav a sprain neck or something, I will go with those As.

Hey All! Jes wanna say a big thx u to all who came to see me off heh! really appreciate! Felt so luVed! especially the 2 lovely friends who helped me pack! =)!

WoOHoO! it's been a week and 3 days since i got here! NZ is really beautiful, gorgeous, picturesque, absolutely Charming City! Jes behind the church (New Life Church, which I will be attending =)! ) is this down slope hill, with lush green scenic surroundings. This all leads to a small lake where the ducks would swim and bask under the lovely warm summer sun! it’s AWEsOME! Will take some shot next time heh!

Learning how to do many things on my own here, I guess it’s one of the perks of going overseas is that u really get down into doing the little things like buying toilet paper, non stick pan?, Tupperware?, dishwashing liquid? Basically things that I never have to even think of buying and doing. It’s gRREAT fun Cooking!

Jes Mastered how to cook Veggie! Next will be pasta (Carbonara) after that maybe make ABC(potato,carrots,onion) Soup? Heh! Getting many ideas and recipes! Hope to cook a decent meal for all u guys when I get back =)!

Will write more next time, meanwhile enjoy this short story of a new friend I made.

He’s French, tall, blonde and at first glance I thought he was young. But knowing Caucasians, they are probably older than they look. So I presume maybe 24? We introduce each other and the rather peculiar thing he said next, immediately, was that he wanted to get married this year maybe next. WoW! Physio is such an expensive course not to mention 4 yrs of study and he’s still finding time for romance! Know wonder they call the French such passionate lovers. This was dialogue I had with him “Wow! So How old are u?” “Oh, im 20 this year?” “*gasp* Great! So I guess u have a girlfriend in france?” “No I don’t” “huh? Then how are u going to get married?” “Oh I will look for a Kiwi girl here and ask her to marry me?”

Talk about passionate! Now they are going at lightspeed dating!

Then I asked, “how come? Why would u wanna marry next year?” “Oh because the tuition fees are really expensive of international students, if I marry a kiwi gal I can get citizenship? Then the fees would be very cheap?”

Sensational! Absolutely great Insight! Talk abt out of the box thinking!

So what happen was that this week he did find a kiwi gal, nice gal if I might add, and started to write msgs to her during lectures. Catching her after class to chat for a little while….pretty really romantic stuff eh. A few days ago suddenly this French Dude, from out of no where, put on a T-Shirt saying “Adult Film Maker.” In between class, he managed to talk to her again but this time he had a really gd pick up line. He said “Do u wanna be an actress?”

Some guys and I were watching from a far Burst( as in really burst out) laughing when we saw the gal walk away from him with a very much disgusted look! it’s super drama man! All that passion, starry eyes, loving words *ahem* yea T-shirt words.
